Boardwalk Empire season 4 keeps following Nucky Thompson – the most influential man in Atlantic City. After “Chalky” White saved Nucky in the previous season, he finally got a chance to make his old dream come true – to open a club where only black people were allowed to work. Now “Chalky” is concerned about casting tap dancers much more than some gangster wrangles. Nucky is also looking for some peace and quiet – he gathers criminal bosses from all over the state in order to agree upon peace and release tension by financial means. Gillian Darmody is desperate to return custody over her grandson and sell her bawdy-house. However, beneath outer prudence, Gillian is concealing her addiction to drugs and prostitution. Former agent Nelson Van Alden turns into Dean O’Banion’s errand boy. A new character enters the stage in season 4 – a black Doctor of Divinity named Valentin Narcisse who constantly recites aphorisms and Bible.
