Film description:

In the last season, it became clear that Red John is still alive. In addition, he has a lot of supporters and aides. But Patrick Jane is not going to stop until completely destroy his worst enemy. His colleagues Teresa Lisbon, Kimball Cho, Wayne Rigsby and Grace Van Pelt are always ready to help him. While Jane tries to decipher Lorelei’s connection to Red John, the CBI team is forced to partner with the FBI to solve the murder of a hotel employee.

The Mentalist (season 5)

The fifth season of the CBS police procedural series The Mentalist premiered on September 30, 2012. As of this season, The Mentalist was scheduled to air on Sundays at 10:00 pm ET. The fourth, eighth and nineteenth episode of this season aired at 11:00 pm ET. The season finale aired on May 5, 2013.

I love and adore this show. I can sit and watch it all day and never tire of it. Personally I haven't really watched any shows since JAG went off the air several years ago. And honestly it wasn't until the season finally of season 3 that got me to watch this. I saw a little but of the ending of the season and went out and bought season 1 and 2 and can't get enough of it. I can't wait for season 3 to come onto DVD and watch season 4 when it starts up again. Simon Baker deserves awards for this show. All the actors do. Jane is the best character on TV since Harm was on JAG and The Mentalist is the best show since JAG. I love, love, love it!

Brilliant idea of Bruno Heller how to criticize/irony of the classical police methods, I'm sure. Especially in a case of RJ/PJ ( everybody related with death of her should ( or will? ) be murdered ). Only question is if RJ/PJ wants to die, too. During the whole story, he has been found out who is really "guilty" and last season is for the executions. In the end of 5th season, he reveals those guys. Now, only to expect the order of the deaths. Only to fill the 10 lines - the police cases within all episodes show the incompetency of police.OK, it's only TV series, how could 1 special man confused that huge police machine.

Simon Baker is the main character, and he is someone you either love or hate (or love to hate). Robin Tunney is great as the skeptical boss, & the supporting players are great (including Gregory Itzin from "24" as the head of CBI (California Bureau of Investigation).

However, I would like to point out some obvious GOOFS in this show, as we live in Sacramento, CA (where the fictional show takes place):

1) There is no such thing as CBI in California! We do not have a state police, but the California Highway Patrol (CHP, depicted in "Chips"), a state police agency that are basically glorified traffic cops who patrol the freeways and arrest people for speeding tickets.... California DOES NOT HAVE a detective agency based in Sacramento, although a small department of CHP are assigned to guard the State Capitol & governor Arnold Schwartzenneger.

2) The show supposedly takes place in Sacramento, but fails to use real location shots! Its basically a Hollywood-ized version of the California State Capitol. Some of the episodes use city names of nearby towns and one episode was in the Napa Valley.

3) One episode involved a murder in San Francisco (2 hours from Sacramento)....it made us laugh every time they were able to go from the CBI headquarters to the Crime Scene in only 5 minutes. (In a later episode, they mention that they have a Helicopter available--- obviously inserted by the writers to "cover" their continuity gaffe!)

4) Yet another episode took place in Davis, CA (a small town only 20 miles from Sacramento). Yet the location shots were from Southern California: News flash, the city of Davis does NOT have palm trees (palm trees would freeze dead in the Northern California winters). the Davis police department has only ONE part-time detective, yet the "Mentalist" made it look like they had a huge squad of detectives. (As a former University of Davis CA student, having lived in the town of Davis, it was very laughable!)

I'm sure the folks who live in Miami scream out "CSI investigators don't drive Hummers" and the Vegas residents probably howl that "there is nobody who looks like Helgenberger working in the LVPD."

Hopefully, if the Mentalist makes it to a Second Season, they will correct some of the goofs and gaffes, and PLEASE do some real location shots in the Central Valley!
