The curious, adventure-seeking, fourth grade group of boys, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny, all join in in buffoonish adventures that sometimes evolve nothing. South Park is a great cartoon, even with it's occasional pitfalls every season. It combines satire, music and comedy to create a terrific masterpiece of an animated show. Trey Parker and Matt Stone bring the weekly antics of a inbred mountain town in a way that has never been done before and it is drop dead funny. Sometimes it seems like the seasons get better, sometimes they seem to get worse for some. But episodes like "Chinpokomon", "The Passion of the Jew", "Tolerance Camp", and "Clubhouse" are classics. And most episodes get funnier every single time I see it and thanks to Comedy Central giving Parker and Stone full control for language, nothing is out of bounds.

In the year of 1997, I wasn't such an avid viewer of Comedy Central, so I didn't even hear about this thing called South Park until someone at school put some waves on the computer. Line that most caught my attention: Ms. Crabtree: Sit down! Stan: Ah, whatever you fat b*^ch. Reply: What did you say!? Stan: I said I have a bad itch. Everyone in the room cracked up at that one, but all they said was "South Park." Basically, I'm left in the dark with it. Eventually, I asked one of my friends about it, who said "Comedy Central." But, I still didn't get to see it til July '98. I was home from summer school that day (summer school AAAHHHHHHHH) with really bad muscle cramps and was in bed all day. My friend said that South Park is on Wednesday at 9:00. First episode I saw, Chicken Lover, I had to suffer through. Why? My back hurt worse every time I laughed. It was hysterical. I watched it the next week too, and was then hooked on it. Incredibly funny, something that shouldn't be missed. If you don't like it, you can kiss my @$$, mmkay.

OK, so it's a bunch of badly animated cartoon characters most cursing, fighting, delivering toilet humor and offending just about everyone. Regardless, I like this show. If you don't get offended by everything and can just enjoy yourself every once in a while and take a joke, you could too. The humor is toilet humor (no pun intended about Mr. Hankey, who I don't think is funny), but it's very funny and makes fun of certain issues that really do need to be made fun of. I really find the stereotypes spread throughout this show too (fat kid, Jewish kid, British kid, black starving kid from Sally Struthers commercials, etc) because I think they're funny. This isn't my usual type of humor, though, and I do perfer good sketch, improv or standup comedy, but this is a very clever and fun show.

I am a typical 15-year old kid. I am easily amused and basically anything can make me laugh. I like Beavis & Butthead and The Simpsons and King of the Hill, Family Guy, Futurama, etc... But South Park goes beyond these funny cartoons. South Park takes the risk that all dirty cartoons are afraid to go. I admit South Park is a 2-dimensional paper cut-out cartoon made by obviously 2 high school social rejects but it's funny. It's better than your gay Frasier or Seinfield, actually Seinfield is hilarious but anyway parents are always saying "This show needs to be canceled, it's having a bad influence on my children." Simple solution soccer mom don't let your kids watch it. A hard solution to such a HARD problem. So if there are any parents reading this: get over it, get a life and if you don't like your kids watching it then don't let them. Problem solved.
