Charles Irving "Chuck" Bartowski from a small town near LA got used to considering himself a loser and is not expecting any surprises from life. A brilliant Standford graduate's selling computers and gadgets at a "Buy more" store and is living in his sister's house. Her name is Ellie and she works as a doctor at a local hospital. Chuck also has a friend named Morgan Grimes who is the same loser as Chuck. The last time Chuck had a girlfriend was during his freshman year at college. Now he is spending all of his free time playing computer games and surfing the Internet. But Chuck's life changes the moment he receives an email from his college friend. The message contains secret coded information which immediately gets "recorded" into Chuck's brain through a series of fast-changing visual images the moment he opens the file. From now on a provincial "nerd" becomes an object of close attention for American special services which send him two best agents - Sarah Walker from CIA and John Casey from NSA. 2 agents inform Chuck that he has accidentally become a carrier of very important and valuable information which has been transfered to him by means of an advanced technology known as "Intersect". Now Chuck has a totally different life, full of adventures and dangers, pursuits, fights and explosions but he turns out to be a quick learner for his spy mentors and gradually even becomes their worthy partner in carrying out important missions.
