Heroes season 2 begins with 4 months after the events at Kirby Plaza. Claire Bennet changes her last name and switches to another school. Now, her name is Claire Butler. Such measures are taken for her own safety as agents of "the Company" have been hunting her and other people with superhuman abilities for a long time. Claire's stepfather, Noah Bennet, is trying to protect the girl. As an employee of "the Company" he has full access to the information about pursuit of the "heroes". He was the one to initiate Claire's transfer to a new school where the girl meets a guy named West Rosen. West tells Claire that he can fly. Meanwhile, Hiro Nakamura, using his teleportation ability, goes back in time to Kyoto of 1641. There he is going to save Takezo Kensei in order to make a hero out of him in future. In his opinion, Takezo Kensei is the one who will have to save the planet in future. Mohinder Suresh, one of the heroes, meets Bob Bishop, "the Company" agent, who offers him "medicine" in exchange for cooperation. The experimental drug is supposed to return Suresh back to normal life.
