Grey's Anatomy season 6 has a tragic beginning – the hospital is mourning over one of the intern’s death. He jumped under the bus to save a stranger. A new cardio surgeon comes to Seattle Grace – Teddy Altman, Owen Hunt’s acquaintance from Iraq. Cristina who wants to specialize in cardio surgery is not getting along with the new surgeon very well as she is used to working with famous doctors and doesn’t recognize Teddy’s authority. Izzie Stevens comes back to work after the recovery. Seattle Grace is consolidates with Mercy West hospital and interns from both hospitals compete for surgeries. Richard Webber failed to follow the "Twelve steps" program aimed at eliminating alcohol abuse and began to drink again. While he is solving his issues with alcohol, Derek is staying in charge of the hospital. Meredith and Derek seem to be fulfilling their marital duty all over the place while Cristina and Owen got a temporary sex ban from Dr. Wyatt.
