Star Wars Rebels has turned out a welcoming change of scenery from The Clone Wars, and it's very watchable though sometimes a flawed gem of a show. Some of the stories in the first season alone make these chapters worthy additions to the Star Wars canon, and you can forgive the reliance on The Prequel Trilogy backstory used here, because it uses those references for some satisfying payoffs in the end. Oh, and NO JarJar Binks! *Phew*

Star Wars Rebels is a charming and pretty serial to look at and behold, and episodes like Rise of the Old Masters give this series real teeth and personality; it's not afraid to tackle themes that would otherwise be too much for a children's show. It's a brave show that knows when to play it safe, and when not to play it too safe if it compromises the story. Another stand out episode is Path of the Jedi, which follows some of the beats seen in 'The Empire Strikes Back': confronting your fear, the force and preparing yourself for what seems to be the inevitable. The series does borrow from the source movies, but it stands its own ground, and some of these play like entertaining apologies for The Prequels.

Disney has done rather well with redefining Star Wars in the 2010s thus far, and Star Wars Rebels along with The Force Awakens show they know exactly what they're doing, and they're bringing back the 'wow' in Star Wars at long last.

I must say i really enjoyed Star Wars rebels series. When the first season came in 2015 i didn't expect nothing, but how i was wrong, if you loved the clone wars animated series you will love also Rebels. I like the story, characters, only in the beginning Ezra irritated me a bit but now he is acceptable character, animation is similar to that one seen in clone wars. Season 2 is even better than season 1, you really can't wait to see new episode and adventures of your favorite characters. I really can't wait for season 3 and i must say that this series is better ten times than the new movie. If you look for real Star Wars spirit better check Star Wars Rebels than the new movie.

Star Wars rebels bridges the gap between star wars episode three and four, although at first I was pretty unsatisfied with the expanded universe being ruled out, I assumed that the creators wouldn't know what to do or how to execute the story within the gap.

I'll start with the basic story, it follows a gang of rebels who dislike the empire, and the story follows two Jedi across their missions and encounters with the empire. The countless planets and places they visit are true to the star wars series which (even for a hard core fan such as me) satisfy anyone who are deeply entwined with the star wars universe. *spoilers* for example, Kanan and Ezra visit Malacore. A war stricken planet with much history in the Star Wars universe. And the creators included a brief history of the planet.

Some cons: Now the story does drag on a little, which is why it doesn't get a 10/10, for example the constant fights against the inquisitors and the storm troopers, have no purpose it gets annoying and repetitive. In fact, much of the episodes in between are basically fillers. You don't even need to watch season 1. But season 2 is crazy. The pilot and the finale episodes are absolutely amazing. Plus the music could do a lot better, i.e. sometimes there should be dramatic music but there is nothing, which just gives an awkward feel.

The pros: What I love about rebels the most, was season 2. Season two showed us some of our beloved characters and how they have changed slightly over the years. Such as Asohka, she's been led slightly astray from the light side.

Honestly if you are a star wars fan, this is something you must watch. It isn't an ignorant work like the force awakens, leaving out a lot of information on the massive star wars universe, in fact it brings in other information, and adds slightly to the universe. Seeing Jedi temples. Holocrons, sith temples. Its amazing.

What got my interest the most was the season 2 finale and the siege of Lothal. Let me just say something. The season 2 finale was absolutely amazing, I was cheering and was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Pitting master against apprentice, and i love how they injured Kanan, so the story will take a slight turn, avoiding repetitiveness. The way they wrapped up the story in the end was perfect. leaving viewers craving for more from the next season.
