Surf's Up 2: WaveMania is a 2017 American direct-to-video 3D computer-animated mockumentary comedy film directed by Henry Yu. It is a sequel to the 2007 film, Surf's Up. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation and WWE Studios, the film was released on January 17, 2017 on DVD and digital media. Jeremy Shada and Melissa Sturm voice Cody Maverick and Lani Aliikai respectively. Two of the supporting cast reprised their voice roles.

This film features astonishing performances from a very talented cast of actors. A script nothing short of a magnum opus. Animation so beautiful that you won't believe your eyes. See this film if you like seeing things done well.

An animated comedy that features WWE Superstars, providing their own voices while matching up against talking animals. Surf's Up 2: Wave- Mania is a 2017 straight to DVD Sequel to the 2007 Surf's Up film and it's produced by WWE and Sony Pictures Animation and honestly it was pretty good and pretty damn fun and personally i still like WWE their movies might be kinda crappy most of the time but this one wasn't as bad as some people made it sound like and sure it's no Zootopia or Finding Dory but it was still fun to see John Cena, Triple H, Undertaker, Mr. McMahon and Paige to feature their voices in something like this and it was fun to return to the world of Cody and his friends and like i said if you have low expectations you might actually enjoy the movie on your own.

Cody Maverick, Chicken Joe, Tank and Lani Aliikai team up with The Hang 5 in a journey to a mysterious surf spot.

Since the release of the original, Mario Cantone, Jon Heder and Shia LaBeouf from the film have mentioned the possibility of a sequel several times. On March 1, 2016, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that it had partnered with WWE Studios for a Surf's Up sequel. Henry Yu was hired as the director of the film, making this his directorial debut while Abdul Williams was tapped to write the screenplay. The film is animated by Rainmaker Entertainment.

The project was initiated by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), which enquired Sony for a possible project that would help expand their brand and reach a new generation of audiences. According to Yu, WWE thought that Surf's Up had "a really fun vibe. It's really light-hearted. It's got a lot of goofy, cartoony fun." He also remarked that the film is "about surfing – it's about sports. So we thought it was a natural fit." All character designs had to be approved by WWE.
